What types of lasers does Beam Basics support?

Beam Basics is designed around the CO₂ lasers and workflows we use every day. Right now, we’re officially supporting CO₂ lasers that run LightBurn and have rotary capability. We will be expanding support to other types of lasers and software in the future.
If you’re unsure, please fill out the form —we’ll review the information and confirm before we book anything.

Do you support diode lasers or other types of machines?

Not officially—at least not yet.

We specialize in CO₂ lasers with rotary capability, and that’s where we can provide the most accurate, reliable guidance. Diode lasers and certain other machines often have different limitations (power, bed size, supported materials, etc.), so we handle those case by case.

If you’re using something outside our standard CO₂ + LightBurn setup, you can still fill out the form. We’ll take a look and let you know whether we’re a good fit or if we’d recommend other resources.

Can you help me with 40oz tumblers?

In many cases, yes—but it depends on your machine’s physical limits.

To engrave larger cups like 40oz tumblers, your laser needs:

  • Enough Z-depth to fit the cup on the rotary
  • The right lens/focal distance to reach the surface

If your laser can’t physically accommodate a 40oz tumbler, we can still help you with other sizes and projects—we’ll just tailor the plan to what your machine can actually handle.

What if I’m not sure my laser qualifies?

You’re exactly who the intake form is for. Fill it out with as much detail as you can—brand, model, wattage, software, rotary type, and your goals. We’ll review everything and let you know:

  • “Yes, we can help with exactly what you want,”
  • “We can help, but we’ll need to adjust your project goals,” or
  • “We’re not the best fit for this setup right now.”

We’d rather be upfront than waste your time or money. Our priority is making sure we can truly help you succeed.
